Birdies taking off!

This is a true story... The river froze a few days back behind where i live... the ice spread for miles... the sunsets were beautiful... and then one evening i saw these...geese...sitting still on the ice... my mind immediately wondered at their stillness... i could not bear the cold.. so i assumed that the birds were frozen along with the ice.. i waited and waited and watched them in worry... i saw two of them move their heads.. i was relieved..and after a few moments.. i saw them spread their wings and take off... they were sitting on the ice all the while.. my assumptions..and my imaginations...hmmm... i had learned my lesson that evening.. to sometimes let things be.. and not to assume or imagine unnecessarily.
